Day hikes (no overnight)
Sarangkot sunrise (1,600m), Australian Camp (2,065m), World Peace Pagoda - these are gentle half-day to full-day hikes accessible from Pokhara without an overnight teahouse stay. No trekking permits needed.
Short treks (3–5 days)
Royal Trek (3–4 days), Ghorepani Poon Hill (4–5 days), Mohare Danda (4–5 days), Mardi Himal (4–5 days). These are the perfect choice for travellers with limited time - you still get the high-altitude views, the teahouse experience, and the cultural exposure without committing two weeks.
Mid-length treks (5–7 days)
Khopra Ridge (5–6 days), Annapurna Base Camp standard route (7 days). ABC is the most iconic - it puts you in the middle of a 360° amphitheatre of 7,000-metre peaks at 4,130m. Khopra is the quieter alternative for trekkers who want fewer crowds.
Long treks (10+ days)
Annapurna Circuit (12–18 days), Manaslu Circuit (12–14 days, restricted area, requires special permit). The Circuit is the all-time classic - crossing the Thorong La pass at 5,416m. Manaslu is the wilder, less commercial alternative.
